The KVLA Events Committee and the Board of Trustees has made the difficult decision to, once again, cancel the summer event benefitting the Keene Valley Library. The health and safety of our extended community is our priority and we hope that you and your families have been well during this stressful year.
As in 2020,this decision has repercussions for the ongoing financial and programmatic health of the library. We count on the summer benefit for just over twenty five percent of our revenue for the year. These funds, along with our annual appeal, help us run our programs, pay our incredible staff, maintain our facility, and purchase books, technology, and more.
In 2020 your generous response to our summer mailing was overwhelming. If you can, please consider making a donation to the Keene Valley Library today to help us offset the loss of this event for 2021.
While the popular silent auction and 50/50 raffle continue to be on hold for another year, everyone who makes a donation of $100 or more will be entered into a raffle with one prize winner.
Local businesses have very generously donated over $600 worth of items which we will present in a genuine (well loved) picnic basket . The winning ticket will be drawn on August 15th.
We know that you all look forward to gathering with your families and friends in a social setting and, while we will not hold a large gathering such as the benefit this year, the Keene Valley Library will offer smaller, safer opportunities for you to get together with your friends. Please keep an eye on our website, keenevalleylibrary.org, for information on upcoming gatherings. Continue to stay safe and healthy and we look forward to taking you “Around the World and
Back Again” (hopefully!) next year.
