A book not to be missed!

WonderstruckWonderstruck by Brian Selznick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Incredible, most amazing, rich and full. I loved every page!

Two stories; one in words, one in the soft, detailed pencil drawings characteristic of Selznick’s art are interwoven like parallel worlds. They come together in a warm and heartfelt way.

The stories are reminiscent of Konisburgs book:From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs Basil E. Frankweiler. There is museum lore and astronomy and history all wrapped into one 600+ page book. But don’t be daunted by the size. More than half are illustrations. It is amazing but one story is told only in pictures and it is as rich and detailed as the worded story.

To be read by any age.

A mystery with a local flavor!

Learning to SwimLearning to Swim by Sara J. Henry
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Loved it!

Troy Chance sees a boy drop from a Champlain Ferry and dives in to save him. When no one comes looking for the boy who does not speak English she begins to unravel the circumstances of his short life.

It is fun to read of local places, but the novel has mystery and twists as well. A good story

Goodreads: Trunk Music

Trunk Music (Harry Bosch, #5)Trunk Music by Michael Connelly
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Harry Bosch is back. Good guys and bad, just the right amount of plot twists and a happy ending. Body found in trunk leads HB to Vegas, stir in a bit of mob intrique, and old girl friend, and the FBI and you are all setfor a lazy Saturday afternoon.
